Campo Santo's first-person adventure game Firewatch
, which released earlier this year on PlayStation 4 and PC, is coming to the Xbox One later this month.
follows protagonist Henry, who has recently taken up a job as a fire lookout in Wyoming's Shoshone National Forest in the year 1989. His only means of communication is a walkie-talkie that links him to his supervisor Delilah, who is stationed in her own tower in the distance. As you'll hear Delilah assert in the trailer, the only people who take this sort of job are the ones who are trying to get away from something in their lives. Henry has his own troubled past and the game explores this storyline and other mysteries from within the forest.
With its release on the One, Firewatch
is also getting a pair of new features. The first is an audio tour, which as the game's Writer Sean Vanaman explains, is a "making-of that takes the normal game mode and turns it into one part Director’s Commentary, one part Game Dev Workshop and wraps that all around a scavenger hunt." The tour will include stories of the game's development and commentary from Rich Sommer (Henry) and Cissy Jones (Delilah). A free-roam mode is also being added, which will allow players to explore their surroundings freely, with a day and night cycle and some hidden secrets. Firewatch
will release on the Xbox One on September 21st.
