Brawlout Shares Some Super Smash-like Gameplay

By Mark Delaney, 1 year ago
Nintendo has long touted Super Smash Bros. as one of its premiere first-party exclusive titles. It alone makes fans of other platforms commit to Nintendo consoles with each generation. Sony tried to mimic the style of the series a few years back with PlayStation All-Stars, and found little success in doing so, both critically and commercially. If you missed the announcement of Angry Mob's Brawlout, you may not yet be aware that a Smash-like is now coming to Xbox One, as well, via the ID@Xbox program. Surprise!

Fans of platform brawlers like this need little more than a gameplay demo to see if the tenets of the genre are being upheld. Getting it in your hands will have to wait -- the game isn't due for release til early next year -- but for now, check out some gameplay footage.

What it lacks in instantly recognizable characters hopefully it can make up for with solid gameplay that genre fans can rely on. Who knows, maybe Brawlout's characters are new icons in the making.
