TimeGate Studios, the independent developer behind Section 8 and, announced that the Section 8 sequel they're developing will be released next year as an XBLA title.

Section 8: Prejudice will be a sci-fi themed first person shooter featuring a 5-hour single player campaign. If that doesn't sound like enough to merit a purchase for you, Section 8: Prejudice promises to give you more bang for your buck by offering an online multiplayer mode for up to 32 players, as well as a 4 player co-op mode called Swarm.

As to the decision to release a sequel for Section 8, which is a retail title, as a downloadable product on XBLA, Adel Chaveleh, CEO of TimeGate Studios, stated:

Our target is very simply to be the highest quality, best value digital FPS on the market. Prejudice is a full-retail-scoped product, so I’m sure our fans will be very happy with our price-point decision.
The developer also added that it plans to support the product with post-launch DLC.

Section 8: Prejudice will be available for 1200 MSP and is currently slated for a Q1 2011 release.
