It's odd to see a game's initial announcement
, follow its progress
for so long, then finally be able to grab your controller in your hands and play it. We're just a few days out from that final step with ReCore
. To whet your appetite, Major Nelson (Larry Hryb) and Microsoft Studios Senior Creative Director Joseph Staten streamed and talked about the game for almost an hour. The VOD is well worth a watch if you're interested in the finished product.
Hryb and Staten discuss everything from the inevitable Metroid
comparisons to the idea of color-coding ammo and enemy types — if it's a yellow enemy, take out your gun that has yellow ammo and shoot it (don't worry colorblind people; they've got you covered by having recognizable symbols in addition to coloring), the mobility mechanisms, Joule's abilities, the open-world aspects and more.
Not to mention, if you're not interested in the chatter, you still get to see almost a full hour of ReCore
launches on Xbox One and Windows 10 less than a week from today on September 13th.
