Major Nelson and Joseph Staten Stream 50 Minutes of ReCore

It's odd to see a game's initial announcement, follow its progress for so long, then finally be able to grab your controller in your hands and play it. We're just a few days out from that final step with ReCore. To whet your appetite, Major Nelson (Larry Hryb) and Microsoft Studios Senior Creative Director Joseph Staten streamed and talked about the game for almost an hour. The VOD is well worth a watch if you're interested in the finished product.

Hryb and Staten discuss everything from the inevitable Metroid comparisons to the idea of color-coding ammo and enemy types — if it's a yellow enemy, take out your gun that has yellow ammo and shoot it (don't worry colorblind people; they've got you covered by having recognizable symbols in addition to coloring), the mobility mechanisms, Joule's abilities, the open-world aspects and more.

Not to mention, if you're not interested in the chatter, you still get to see almost a full hour of ReCore gameplay.

ReCore launches on Xbox One and Windows 10 less than a week from today on September 13th.
