update was short and sweet, adding only the new feature of being able to create private matches. There are 18 competitive modes available on almost 30 maps.
While it may not seem like a worthwhile update at first glance, despite being in post-launch for over two years, this is the first time private matches have been available. This update is not supported on last-gen systems and is only available on Xbox One and PS4.
According to users on the Destiny subreddit
, achievements are attainable in private matches, Grimoire score earned counts toward your overall total, and there are certain dead ghosts
that can only be found in private matches.
The update is live now. But what's next for Destiny
? Next week is the launch of the "Rise of Iron" expansion
. The achievements have already been scanned in here
in preparation of its September 20th launch date and Bungie has released the official launch trailer today, despite still being several days out from release.
"Rise of Iron" will take players to the Plaguelands in an entire new story campaign and will feature new weapons and armor, a brand new raid versus a unique enemy type, a Fallen faction called the "Devil Splicers," the "Supremacy" PVP mode and more.
