The Coalition is giving Gears of War: Ultimate Edition
a proper sendoff before next week's early access launch of Gears of War 4
. Starting on Wednesday, September 28th, there will be a double experience boost active in multiplayer. Players will be able to reap the benefits for a full week. Unfortunately it won't double your kills toward the "Seriously..."
achievement, but if you're just looking to "Re-up,"
it should be well within your reach.
Gears fans might also remember reading earlier this month that a playlist update doubled the former XP values in every playlist
. This is true, and the developers have confirmed that the double XP boost will be on top of the already-increased values, so this week you'll actually be earning quadruple XP compared to what you were earning prior to this month's update. Remember also that Assassination has a permanent 4x experience boost, so you'll be able to earn 8x XP in that particular playlist during the event.
This event is only for the Xbox One version. As for the Windows 10 version, it was already running at heavily-increased XP values compared to the console version, so the playlist update and event were not deemed necessary for it. If you'd like to see what types of multipliers you can earn in each playlist on Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (Win 10)
, check out The Coalition's detailed blog here
The double XP event goes live on Wednesday, September 28th and will be active until Wednesday, October 5th, with no exact start and end times specified as of this writing.
