Rocket League Update Brings New Content Today, Including Achievements

By Kevin Tavore, 1 year ago
When we last heard from Rocket League a few weeks ago, we learned of a new underwater arena called the AquaDome. You can learn all about it in the reveal article. The update launches today and it includes the new arena, but there's also a host of other exciting new features on the way.

Rocket League Aquadome 1

New Cars and Updates

Two new Battle-Cars have arrived, Proteus and Triton. As with the previous DLC cars, each one will come at the cost of USD $1.99 or your regional equivalent.

Perhaps bigger news to many, two old cars have received a visual makeover. Before you worry, the hitbox and turning radius for Road Hog should remain the same, so you can take your new style with the same old gameplay you love. Hotshot's handling and hitbox have been standardized against similar cars Dominus and Breakout, so now your pick can be based on style instead of necessity.

New Items

It wouldn't be an update without new items:
  • Two new "Very Rare" rocket trails in Ink and Treasure.
  • Two new "Rare" sets of wheels named Asterias and Zeta
  • Over a dozen older wheels can now drop with the Painted attribute
  • A new "Rare" topper called Clamshell
  • Three "Uncommon" antennas called Harpoon, Trident, and Starfish
  • And, finally, a new community flag for everyone for the RLCS

Alright, you're here for the achievements. Without further ado:

Name Description
GG Win the MVP award in a game that goes to overtime.
Trifecta Score a goal, save a shot, and assist a teammate all in a single game.
Infinite Power! Activate every power-up in Rocket League Rumble
Stopped Cold Freeze an opponent's shot before it can score.
Sea Turtle Head to AquaDome Map and score a goal while flipped on your back.
Get Up, Mr. Bubbles! Equip the Bubbles Rocket Trail and Score an Aerial goal, while playing in AquaDome Map.
Rocket Genocider Make 535 Shots on Goal.
That last one should get you pretty excited. The update should be live now or very soon, but the achievements have not yet been scanned in so you might want to wait to play until those go live as well. Let us know what you think about the achievements in the comments below!
