Overwatch's Halloween Terror Event Begins

By Kevin Tavore,
It seems like only two months ago that we celebrated the summer games in Overwatch 2. If you remember that event, you'll be familiar with the concept of tons of new skins, player icons, sprays and more available only for a limited time. The event was undoubtedly a success, and Blizzard has just announced and released a new event called Halloween Terror.

The event, obviously, is in celebration of Halloween and will run from now through November 1st. Like last time, players will earn special Halloween Terror lootboxes during the duration of the event whenever they level up. The boxes will also be available for purchase beginning October 12th. Once the event ends, the loot boxes will no longer be available. The Summer Games caught a lot of flak for not offering the option to purchase items by coins - popular skins were only available through luck of the draw, which meant you could spend $100 and still not get what you wanted in theory. Blizzard has resolved that issue by offering the items for coins as well this time around, albeit for 3x the normal cost (so 3000 coins for a single legendary skin).

Speaking of skins, there are 12 of them in total. You can check them all out below.

Perhaps more importantly to us, the event has also brought with it a new brawl, Junkenstein's Revenge. The brawl is a co-op horde mode where players will pick a team consisting of McCree, Hanzo, Ana and Soldier 76. There are three difficulties: easy, normal and hard. By all accounts, the brawl is quite the challenge, which should make earning the four related achievements quite rewarding.

Overwatch 2Four They WereThe Four They Were achievement in Overwatch 2 worth 39 pointsWin Junkenstein's Revenge with 4 different heroes.

Overwatch 2Not a ScratchThe Not a Scratch achievement in Overwatch 2 worth 65 pointsWin Junkenstein's Revenge on Hard difficulty with no damage to the door.

Overwatch 2Survived the NightThe Survived the Night achievement in Overwatch 2 worth 33 pointsWin Junkenstein's Revenge on Hard difficulty.

Overwatch 2Held The DoorThe Held The Door achievement in Overwatch 2 worth 78 pointsWin Junkenstein's Revenge on Legendary difficulty.

The brawl will last at least until November 1st. Since events recycle every year, it will also be available next October. It's not clear whether there will be a way to earn these achievements during the year when the event is not live, so you might want to focus on them now while it's available.

Halloween Terror in Overwatch is live now and will end on November 1st.

We've got the full list of Overwatch 2 achievements - check the list for guides to unlocking them.
