Free Multiplayer Weekend Joined by Borderlands: The Handsome Collection Freeplay

Xbox Rule #17: If a game starts showing up as free on the Marketplace, it's probably about to be part of a Free Play Days Event.
This is exactly what happened last night with Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, but in this case it turned out to be both a free-play event for the game as well as a free multiplayer weekend for all Xbox Live members. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, which includes updated versions of the Xbox 360 titles Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, is able to played for free starting today, regardless of a player's Gold or Silver status.

Note that it's just a "free multiplayer weekend," not a "free Xbox Live Gold weekend," meaning that Silver members won't temporarily be able to reap any of the other Gold member benefits.

Both events, the free multiplayer weekend and free access to Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, are already live and will run until Sunday, October 30th. The exact end time wasn't given.
