Xbox head Phil Spencer has confirmed that the Xbox 360 Backward Compatibility programme will continue on Microsoft's upcoming Project Scorpio
console. The information was revealed in a Twitter response to a gamer asking whether he would be able to play Red Dead Redemption
on Project Scorpio.
Project Scorpio will be the most powerful console in the Xbox family, with eight CPU cores and 320 GB per second of memory bandwidth. Its 6TFLPs of computing capability will handle 4k resolutions and 60fps with ease, and it will be compatible with high-end VR devices.
This is great news for longtime Xbox aficionados who want to retain their classic game libraries as new hardware is developed.
