TGN First Impression: Shantae Half-Genie Hero By Kevin Tavore, 23 Dec 2016 CommentsShantae originally made a name for herself on Nintendo consoles. With her hair twirling and dancing and fun attitude, she was certainly one to draw attention. Thanks to quality gameplay, that attention quickly turned to love and she developed a core fanbase. A couple years ago, developer Wayforward took to Kickstarter to fund Shantae: Half-Genie Hero. Sporting new visuals, she's certainly got fans' attention. While the previous title Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, recently available on consoles, was a Metroidvania adventure, Half-Genie Hero tracks closer to the older games with levels designed specifically for you to go through them with a boss at the end much like old Mega Man titles. One of our TGN crew, Dean, admittedly is a lover of the series. He helped Kickstart it. And now with code in hand, he's here to give us his First Impressions on the game and tell us whether it meets his high expectations. Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is available now for Xbox One.VideoXbox One Written by Kevin TavoreKevin is a lover of all types of media, especially any type of long form story.
