ID@Xbox Releases: Week Beginning January 9th, 2017

By Rebecca Smith, 10 months ago
For years we have been running an article detailing the release schedule of retail titles for the week ahead. Now, we've teamed up with ID@Xbox to bring you a list of downloadable titles that will be hitting the store over the following days. There are seven titles that will be available, one of which will be hitting Game Preview.

Live Streams

We will be streaming most of the titles below on our Official Twitch Channel on the day of release or in the days following. We will be giving away copies of all of the games during the streams. Our Twitch schedule can be seen on the right of the homepage, and we've also included dates and times below:

Nevermind

Release Date: Wednesday January 11th
Livestream: Wednesday January 11th, 3pm GMT, 10am EST

Successfully funded on Kickstarter, Flying Mollusk's "adventure thriller" game is not just any old title. Not only will you delve into the dark and twisted labyrinths and puzzles of the subconscious mind, the game's biofeedback algorithm will alter the game's path depending on your reactions to what you have already witnessed. If you get stressed out, the game becomes harder. If you can control your terror, the game will be more forgiving.

Acorn Assault: Rodent Revolution

Release Date: Wednesday January 11th
Livestream: Thursday January 12th, 3pm GMT, 10am EST

If you were looking for a historically inaccurate retelling of the French revolution with squirrels as the main characters, have we got the game for you. Players must conquer their opponent's army using a "unique" match-three mechanic. The campaign features 25 levels and there is a competitive multiplayer mode for taking on your friends.

Rise & Shine

Release Date: Friday January 13th
Livestream: Friday January 13th, 3pm GMT, 10am EST

As the title of Super Awesome Hyper Dimensional Mega Team's (yes, really) Run & Gun may suggest, players take on the role of Rise. Along with companion Shine, you need to save planet Gamearth. If you fancy a blend of arcade shooter, bullet hell and puzzle platformer, you're in the right place. This isn't just any Run & Gun clone.

Dead Effect 2

Release Date: Friday January 13th
Livestream: Monday January 16th, 3pm GMT, 10am EST

BadFly Interactive's sci-fi First Person Shooter takes place on a derelict spaceship that is infested with creatures that hate you. The game's RPG elements mean that players will be able to train and develop their characters to suit their playstyles, as well as upgrading weapons, gear and their high-tech body implants.

Sylvio

Release Date: Friday January 13th
Livestream: Tuesday January 17th, 3pm GMT, 10am EST

Saginaw Family Park has been closed since a landslide damaged the family park in 1971. Ghost recorder Juliette Waters aims to spend the night in the parkwhile hunting for ghosts, recording the vioces of the deceased on her reel-to-reel recorder. The problem is that they reveal a tale of an evil curse and a wicked family cult. Perhaps the park isn't quite as abandoned as first thought?

Friday Night Bullet Arena

Release Date: Friday January 13th

Red Nexus Games' top-down arena shooter only allows players to have one rather large bullet at a time. Once you have fired that bullet, you'll need to catch it again before you can attempt to shoot someone else, but catching the bullets of your enemies is not advised.

Pit People (Game Preview)

Release Date: Friday January 13th

Previously known as Game 4, The Behemoth's strategy title allows players to recruit their friends and to explore a strange new world that is filled with "awesome" loot. You'll face vampires, electrobots, terrifying cupcake people and balloon-powered flying giraffes.

Which of these will you be adding to your list of games to play?
