Earlier this week, Microsoft began rolling out the first wave of features from the upcoming Creators Update. Amongst the features that some Xbox One owners have already been able to try out was a new Home screen and an updated (and quicker) Guide. In fact, Microsoft is really aiming to streamline the user experience to improve usability and multitasking. The thing is, there's one little change that they've rolled out that they've not really mentioned: they've removed the Snap functionality from the console. Xbox's Mike Ybarra explains why:
What isn't clear at the moment is what exactly will be replacing the Snap functionality. There are rumours that Microsoft is instead heading for a minimised picture of the second app that would be superimposed in the bottom corner of the game screen. If you've ever viewed any of our TrueGamingNetwork ID@Xbox Beam streams, you'll know exactly the sort of thing to expect:
While playing the game, a second program is minimised in the bottom left corner
Of course, we're just speculating here but we will let you know when we get confirmation on any more improvements to the Xbox One user interface. What is confirmed, though, is that the removal of the Snap functionality will make several achievements discontinued. This mostly affects Apps — TrueAchievements being one of them — but also affects one game. You'll find a list of soon-to-be discontinued achievements below. If you know of any others that we've missed off the list, be sure to let us know in the comments below and we'll add them.

You can find out more information on what this means for the TrueAchievements app in this week's podcast.
It is unclear whether the functionality that replaces Snap will then allow players to earn these achievements once more. For now, expect the worst and make sure that you grab these as soon as possible!
