Steins;Gate 0 Coming to Xbox One

By Kelly Packard,
Steins;Gate 0, the follow-up to the 2009 Japanese visual novel Steins;Gate, has been announced to be coming to Xbox One. The developer, 5pb, announced it via Twitter.

What is unclear from this announcement is if the release will be exclusive to the Japan region or if it will receive a Western release with an English translation. Steins;Gate on the Xbox 360 had to be imported from Japan and never received a proper Western release on Xbox, though it did on other platforms. Steins;Gate 0 was released worldwide on both PS4 and PS Vita, so perhaps there is hope for a localized release on Xbox One. Of course, the Xbox One is region free so Western players would still be able to download a Japanese game; they just might not be able to understand a word of it!

According to Chiyomaru Shikura from 5pb, the game should be out in the very near future. He also joked about its cheap price tag and said he doesn't intend to make much money.

That's all the information we know for now, but perhaps we'll see this one pop up on the Marketplace next week — hopefully with an English translation.
