If you're one of the gamers who has been waiting more than 30 years for the sequel to 1983's Bokosuka Wars
, then you're in luck! And you're also very patient. While the original released on operating systems we'd now consider prehistoric, its sequel, Bokosuka Wars II
, launched on the Xbox One in Japan in 2016. The title will now be makings its way to 23 countries in the West in February.
The developers call the title a "simulation RPG." Over the original version, the colorful sequel includes "a third kingdom, new graphics, a new character that allows for a two-player mode, along with various other new aspects."
Currently, only 59 gamers registered on TrueAchievements have played the sequel, so its release in the West should open it up to a new audience. No one has completed it. The countries receiving a release are as follows: The United States, Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Israel, Italy, Austria, the Netherlands, Greece, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Norway, Hungary, Finland, France, Belgium, Poland, Portugal, and Russia. Of course, due to the region-free nature of the Xbox One, if it doesn't happen to come to your country, you can always purchase it from another region's store.Bokosuka Wars II
