Snake Pass Launches in March Through Play Anywhere

Sumo Digital, developers of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, have announced their upcoming puzzle-platformer Snake Pass will be releasing in March. The title will be available on both Xbox One and Windows 10 with Play Anywhere compatibility.

While Snake Pass is a puzzle platformer at heart, it's also physics-based. The developers tried to emulate the real-life physics of a snake. Snakes don't jump, run or climb like typical platforming protagonists; they slither and slide. Players will step into the shoes — er, body — of Noodle, an aptly-named snake. As can be seen in the trailer, Noodle can slither and slide, but also squeeze into small spaces and coil around objects to progress. Like many classic platformers, he has a sidekick, Doodle the Hummingbird. To creator Seb Liese, it was something of a "love letter" to games like Banjo Kazooie. The game features 15 levels set across four different worlds.

Sumo Digital has embraced the variety of different features each console offers, with options for both the Xbox One, PS4 Pro and Nintendo Switch. For Xbox One, they're supporting the Play Anywhere program that makes the game playable on both Xbox One and Windows 10 with shared progress.

Snake Pass will be available on Xbox One and Windows 10 on March 28th in North America and March 29th in Europe.
