Weekend Headlines March 3-5th Part 2: Trailers

By Rebecca Smith,
Now that all of the announcements, updates and release dates are out of the way, lets look at all of the trailers to emerge from the weekend.

Nobody seems to know whether 2Dark is being released tomorrow or whether it will be released next week on March 17th. Microsoft says one date while publisher PQube says another. Regardless, we have a new gameplay trailer for you to watch.

Survival horror title Agony showcases nearly four minutes of gameplay. Players begin the game as a tormented soul that resides within the depths of hell. You have no memories of your past but you can control people and possess simple minded demons. Will you be able to survive?

Aven Colony introduced expedition mode that gives players a new way of discovering and colonising the world. Players can send expedition vessels with the purpose of reinforcing the faith of High Command in your ability as colony Governor. Scout surrounding areas, explore uncharted lands and uncover ways to earn mission critical Commendations and vital resources.

Ghost Theory's release date was far from imminent, but that doesn't mean that the game can't already be delayed. The reason for this delay is that the developer has switched game engine from Unity to CryEngine. Despite this, Dreadlocks published a nine minute prototype of the game running in its old engine.

Project CARS 2 has revealed that the McLaren 720S, which debuted at the Geneva International Motor Show a few days ago, will also be available in the game. With active suspension and active aero’, the car is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 341km/h and can go from 0-100kmh in less than 3 seconds, all thanks to its new, twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine.

In the latest Inn-Side story for Sea of Thieves, Senior Designers Andrew and Shelley went into detail on the game's Voyage System. Voyages will allow players to go on an adventure and pursue particular goals. There's a potential for future quest variations to be added too.

System Shock is not due to be released for a while and the game is only at the pre-alpha stage. Despite this, developer Nightdive Studios released a new trailer of the game in its current build.

A familiar character returns to Tekken 7. Eddy Gordo has pledged his service to Jin Kazama and the Tekken Force in return for vital treatment to save the life of his Capoeira master. The treatment failed and Eddy now seeks revenge by destroying Kazuya Mishima, the man who is now in control of the Mishima Zaibatsu, the company that Eddy holds responsible for his master's death.

The Escapists 2 will see players return to Center Perks but there will be some improvements. As well as the new art style that lends the prison a new appearance, there will be a revamped combat system, new gadgets to craft and new ways to escape. The most important improvement, though, is the addition of multiplayer. The will be drop-in/drop-out co-op as well as a competitive versus mode. In the latter, players compete to be the first to break out of prison.

The Sexy Brutale revealed a new character. Trinity Carrington is otherwise known as “The Moth by Moonlight” and she's one of the Marquis' guests at The Sexy Brutale casino mansion.

Unbox: Newbie's Adventure has teamed up with publisher Merge Games to be released on consoles this summer. Players assume the role of Newbie, the Global Postal Service's latest self-delivering box, as he attempts to deliver himself to his destination across a variety of obstacle laden levels.

X-Morph: Defense delivered another gameplay video, this time showcasing the charged plasma attack, useful for destroying enemies and buildings.

Finally, publisher Team17 provided a gameplay stream of the Glitterglaze Glacier, the second level within Yooka-Laylee. Be aware that the video does contain some spoilers for the level's sub-quests.

Check out part three for the screenshots, collector's editions, post launch content and other details that were released over the weekend.
