Shovel Knight Update Brings Co-op Play

By Megan Walton,
Everything is better with a friend, or so the saying goes. Well, it looks like Yacht Club Games thinks the same, as Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove has just gotten a brand new update that adds co-op play to the game.

Confirmed in a tweet by Yacht Club Games, the newest update bring co-op to all console and PC versions of the game. The co-op will be playable in the main campaign of the game, but not the "Plague of Shadows" DLC.

How you play the game might change slightly if you grab a player two. For example, if one of the players dies, then respawning them brings them back but splits the remaining players health between the two of them. Collected gold is shared between the two players, but at the end of the stage it will tell you who earned the most (if you like a bit of friendly competition). Bear in mind this is only local co-op and not online.

The update for the game should be live now, so go grab a friend and get shovelling!
