D3Publisher's new game Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon
will see players take on the role of a team of giant bug exterminators
the world's most elite soldiers and engage in a battle to rid New Detroit of a swarm of invading insects. The game will feature over 150 weapons; the latest new addition to this arsenal is the Pesticide Gun.
These guns do a "massive amount" of damage and have a large damage radius, but they are Tier 8 weapons; this means that you have to do a massive amount of annihilation before you can earn them. Unfortunately, they are also a one-shot reload. The game features four upgradeable armour sets, and each of these armour sets has one type of Pesticide Gun allocated to it:
• Pesticide Cannon – Goes with the Trooper Armor
• Pesticide Mortar – Goes with the Battle Armor
• Pesticide Missile – Goes with the Tactical Armor
• Pesticide Rifle – Goes with the Jet Armor
This trailer demonstrates the benefits of pesticide. To be honest, with this amount of damage, who cares that it's only a one-shot reload!
Just in case that wasn't enough evidence, D3Publisher have also released some screenshots to reinforce the effectiveness of pesticide:Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon
is due to be released in Spring 2011.
