Dead Space 2 DLC Announced

With its new title, Dead Space 2, barely out of the gate, Visceral Games announced today that a DLC pack, titled "Dead Space 2: Severed" will be released at some point in the near future.

"Dead Space 2: Severed" will feature two characters from Dead Space Extraction, Gabe Weller and Lexine Murdoch. Unlike Extraction, in which the character you played as depended on the chapter of the game you were playing through, gamers will be solely in control of Weller this time around. Weller is currently working as a Sprawl security guard and it's his responsibility to battle the Necromorphs to get Lexine to safety. "Dead Space 2: Severed" will add two standalone chapters to Dead Space 2's single player experience.

The DLC will be coming to the Marketplace "soon" according to the developer. No pricing information was revealed and it is also unclear at this time as to whether or not the expansion will include achievements.
