Magic: The Gathering RPG Announced

By Kevin Tavore, 11 months ago
Magic: The Gathering is a collectible card game that's been around for decades at this point. It's got a gigantic fanbase that comes out weekly to play and socialize over the game. We've had the Duels of the Planeswalkers series to tide us over in the gaming world, but MTG is more than that. There are literally dozens of novels and other forms of media out there that create a sprawling universe full of many worlds. It's the perfect setting, and now we're getting one.

Perfect World Entertainment announced yesterday that they'll be publishing the new title. The game itself will be helmed by the Neverwinter developer, Cryptic Studios. While Neverwinter is an MMO, the press release has no indication that this will be an MMO as well despite the genre being the developer and publisher's forte. Of course, there's no indication it isn't, either.

Not much else is known about the upcoming RPG. We'll let you know as soon as we learn more.
