Overwatch Officially Announces Doomfist

By Gabriel Kreulen, 1 year ago
After his first 'appearance' in the form of his gauntlet, an attack on the Numbani airport leading to the creation of Orisa and the news about his breakout by Reaper, Doomfist has finally been officially announced by Blizzard.

Imprisoned by Overwatch before its downfall and freed by Reaper, Doomfist believes that the only way humanity can grow stronger is through conflict.

Doomfist is an Offense hero designed for close quarters combat and his abilities are naturally designed around that notion.

The focus of Doomfist is to get into close quarters engagements where he can use his abilities to maximum potential. His cn_RT is a automatically reloading hand cannon which deals moderate damage up close. His alternate fire is a rocket-powered punch with his gauntlet, which can be charged up with cn_LT for maximum damage.

cn_LB - Seismic Slam - Doomfist jumps forward and slams his gauntlet on the ground, knocking enemies to him.

cn_RB - Rising Uppercut - Doomfist punches enemies in front of him up in the air.

Passive - The Best Defense - Doomfist generates temporary shields when dealing ability damage.

cn_Y - Meteor Strike - Doomfist leaps into the sky and then slams onto the ground, dealing heavy damage in a moderate radius.
As is customary, there is also a new developer update where game director Jeff Kaplan goes into more detail about his design.

Currently there is no slated release date for Doomfist, but he is currently available for testing on the PTR. As for the inevitable achievements, these are as of writing still unknown.
