According to Xbox and Windows Corporate Vice President Mike Ybarra, a gifting feature for the Xbox One store is "not far" off. Gifting has been an oft-requested feature for years, and you'd think it would have been implemented a long time ago, since it encourages players to keep throwing money at Microsoft when they get in the giving spirit.

To many, the Xbox One store is in need of a complete overhaul, lacking common features such as a cart and a wishlist. Perhaps the official reveal of gifting — which gamers are suspecting may happen at Gamescom — will come alongside other new capabilities that will complement the new feature. After all, what's the point of gifting if you're not quite sure what your friends want or already own?

Gamers are suspecting the official announcement may come at Gamescom, which begins on August 22nd.
