Headup Games Reveals Five New Titles

By Rebecca Smith, 4 months ago
Headup Games is the publisher who is responsible for the arrival of several Xbox One titles, and they already have Slime-san and Super Blackjack Battle II Turbo Edition on the way. Now they've unveiled their full 2017 release schedule and it has revealed five more titles that will be heading our way.

Earth Atlantis

At the end of the 21st century, "The Great Climate Shift" occurred and now 96% of the planet's surface is submerged under water. With this came the fall of human civilisation and an ocean full of "creature-machine hybrid monsters". As one of the few survivors, you must explore the new world, but that won't be as easy as it seems. This side-scrolling shooter tasks players with hunting down over 20 sea monsters as they explore the post-apocalyptic seascape in a variety of different submarines. Pixel Perfex's title will be arriving on Xbox One sometime in the future.

Hero Defense

The world's most powerful vampire, Count Necrosis, is determined to acquire world domination with his legions of undead minions. With five unique heroes at their disposal, players must impale, slash, tear and burn their way through various arenas to liberate the Haunted Island. The gameplay combines elements of MOBAs, RPGs and Tower Defense. Players will also be able to customise their heroes through skill trees and upgradeable weapons. Happy Tuesday's Hero Defense will be arriving on console on October 5th.

KryptCrawler

Despite being a dedicated VR title at the moment, CrazyBunch's classic first person dungeon crawler is still coming to Xbox One in the future. Players will descend into the abyss of tombs and crypts, armed with little other than a map. Find powerful weapons, use magic spells and defeat the many enemies that will try to thwart your quest for loot. Be it poisonous scorpions, hungry spiders or even the undead remains of fallen warriors who have tried to conquer the dungeon before you, it will be a battle to make it back to the world of the living. The game combines turn-based strategy with real time combat and trap evasion that is "unprecedented" in its genre.

Panzer Party

Frame6's upcoming arena brawler is supposed to be released in October, although we're not too optimistic seeing as the developer went into liquidation earlier this year. Still, if it does appear then players will be treated to a local battle between water, ground and air vehicles in a bid to be the victor. Up to four local players can duke it out across six settings, including the Desert, the Andes and Venice, but each will bring its own dangers to contend with in unique events. As you become more successful, you'll benefit from upgrades and pick-ups as a reward.

SEUM: Speedrunners from Hell

Pine Studio's upcoming heavy metal first-person platformer is a speedrunner's idea of heaven... or hell depending on how literal we wish to be. Combining elements from titles like Quake 3 and Super Meat Boy, the game rewards the truly hardcore, focusing on speed and fast reactions. You'll need to teleport, jump, fly, bounce, drop, reverse gravity, and shoot fireballs in your efforts to slice off precious milliseconds to improve your times in over 100 levels. At the end, you'll be rewarded with the ultimate prize: your soul. And a beer. You have until September 13th to prepare yourself for the challenge.

As for the two titles we knew about, Slime-San doesn't have a release date yet. Super Blackjack Battle II Turbo Edition will be released in Q3 2017.
