FIFA 14 Servers to be Shut Down in October

By Kelly Packard,
Despite millions of players enjoying sports titles every year, they're a ticking time bomb as far as discontinued achievements go. In April we reported on three FIFA titles that were scheduled to have their online services shut down in May and July. Now EA has announced FIFA 14 is soon to meet the same fate.

The October 18th shutdown, which will include all online services including FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT), will affect both the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions. Both games already contained two discontinued achievements due to EA no longer running Highlights of the Week, so they are already unable to be 100% completed for those who have yet to start them.

Following the server shutdown, more than 20 additional achievements will become discontinued in each version. We've compiled the lists by filtering for achievements flagged as "Online Required," so please let us know if any have been left out:

As always, be sure to make use of the achievement solutions and forums here on TA if you need help obtaining any of the achievements before the servers go offline forever.

Also of note, EA has confirmed FIFA 14 will be removed from EA Access on the same date as the server shutdown on October 18th. It appears to operate the same way as a delisting — players who have already downloaded the title through the program can still access and play what is left of the game, but any online features will be disabled and inaccessible, of course.
