With the large variety of monsters that will be wondering around the dangerous world of Monster Hunter: World, players will need to be at the top of their monster slaying game if they want to survive and complete successful hunts. To help achieve such levels of skill, Capcom has released a large number of videos showcasing the 14 different weapon types that will be available.

Based on your preferred playstyle, the weapon types can be changed mid-quest, dependent on what's best for the hunt. In three of the 17 videos released, we get to see the strengths and unique traits of all the weapons with narration from Capcom's own professional hunter. With each weapon having its own playstyle and characteristics, some may enjoy the cutting damage and pulling off fast paced attacks with swords and blades. Others may prefer the heavy hit of hammers that can also stun enemies. Bowguns will allow players to keep their distance from enemies. If your hunt is proving to be too difficult for you and your team, why not try out support style weapons that can provide buffs for your team?

The first video showcases these Technical Weapons in action:
  • Switch Axe
  • Charge Blade
  • Insect Glaive
  • Hunting Horn
  • Bow

Dealing heavy damage with each mighty blow, Heavy Weapons are put on show in the second video:
  • Great Sword
  • Hammer
  • Lance
  • Gunlance
  • Heavy Bowgun

If you're looking to be more nimble with fast-attacks and speed, the third video will suit you best with its display of Light Weapons:
  • Sword & Shield
  • Dual Blades
  • Long Sword
  • Light Bowgun

If you want to see every single weapon revealed so far, be sure to check out all of them via Monster Hunter's video section on their YouTube. Capcom provides a video for the following weapons starting from the most recent upload to the first video uploaded after the ones showcased above:
