After enduring critical success on PC, PS4 and even the Nintendo Switch, "rhythm violence" title Thumper
has been dated for Xbox One and Windows 10 following its initial announcement
. Drool, the game's two-man developer, calls it "a blend of classic rhythm, blistering speed, and brutal physicality" and "a very unique action game."
The team promises they have "fine-tuned" the controls for Xbox One. They're also taking advantage of features unique to the Xbox ecosystem, promising "the Windows 10 version of Thumper includes full integration with Xbox Live, so all your progress, achievements, and leaderboard rankings will be synced across both versions." However, they did not actually use the term "Play Anywhere" so it's not clear if both versions can be obtained with one purchase.
Lastly, while not explicitly making any promises, Drool closed off the announcement with a hint: "If you’re looking forward to the release of Xbox One X this Fall, we hope to have more good news soon. For now, let’s just say we think Thumper
looks amazing in native 4K!" Hmm.Thumper
launches for Xbox One and Windows 10 on August 18th.
