Our friends on the Sony side of consoles have been enjoying Spotify for quite a while. The service has grown over the years to become one of the largest music services available, going toe to toe with major players like Apple. Everyone knows Spotify, which made its absence on the Xbox quite noticeable. Luckily, the app has appeared on the Microsoft website, which indicates a release date is imminent.
The app will allow users to take advantage of many of the features of the service:
Soundtrack your gaming with the new Spotify app, free on Xbox One. Listen to your favorite music as you play any game, and browse playlists for every mood using your Xbox One Controller. Take listening to the next level with Spotify.
- Listen to music in the background while you game, for free.
- Browse your favourite albums, songs and playlists.
- Easy playback from your Xbox One Controller, or change tunes from your mobile or tablet without leaving the game.
- Find the perfect playlist for epic gaming in the Gaming genre (in Browse) on Spotify.
Premium users can listen in higher quality audio and without ads.
You can take a look at the interface in the screenshots:
There's no launch date for Spotify, but it's only a matter of time until we all face the music.
