Friday the 13th: The Game Attempts to Remove Team Killing and Adds Free DLC

By Will Cruz, 4 months ago
If you've ever played Friday the 13th: The Game, you’re most likely aware of how the game works. Not every player can be Jason, which results in everyone else attempting to survive as counselors. Unfortunately, not all survivors play fair and team killing sours this experience. Gun Media took feedback from the community and is now attempting removing team killing while adding new content.

In the next patch for the game, public matches will not allow team killing with weapons. The shotgun, machete, and other assorted weapons will have no impact on other survivors. However, cars and traps still inflict damage. Troll players attempting to stop vehicles by standing in front of them will become roadkill. As for traps, players will have to be aware of their surroundings as bear-traps will still cause damage to other counselors that walk over them. If a player is killed by a fellow counselor’s trap, no XP penalty will incur.

In addition, new maps are being created to stir up the pot. These maps are labeled as “fast paced maps” and will be 40% smaller in order to speed up the game. If smaller maps aren’t your thing, perhaps new emotes are. The upcoming patch will also include eight new communication emotes free of charge.
