Tecmo Koei and Namco Bandai announced the sequel to Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 today, unimaginatively titled Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3.
The 3rd iteration of the series sees a number of new additions, including the Partner Strike, Emergency Dash, and Recovery Gauge systems. The Partner Strike system allows the player to call in a friend in order to help out during crucial times with a few key melee strikes. The Emergency Dash allows players to cancel their current action and evade and counter-attack. Lastly, the Recovery Gauge system allows players to regenerate pieces of armor during battle.
In addition to those three additions, there will also be facilities placed on the battlefield, which serve a specific function. Capturing these will allow the player to take control of the battlefield and push the battle in their favor. Control of the battlefield can also be done by using the new chain explosion system, causing a series of explosions with a specific combo. Highlighting these new features is 4-player online co-op campaign and competitive modes.
Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3 is slated for a "summer" release this year.
