THQ Nordic Announces Black Mirror, No Not That One

Not to be confused with the science fiction anthology that currently resides on Netflix, THQ Nordic has today revealed Black Mirror. Though it's unrelated to the show, it is actually a reboot of a little-known series called nearly the same name. In 2004, The Black Mirror debuted and ultimately spawned two sequels in 2009 and 2011.

The studio behind the new Black Mirror, KING Art Games (The Raven, The Book of Unwritten Tales) says this one tells a story independent of its predecessors. It's a reboot of the IP and though it's again a point and click adventure game, it adds gameplay elements previously unseen to the franchise. Despite that disconnect, the reveal trailer does seem to hearken back to the original game.

To put the dark imagery into some context, the story was teased as well:
Scotland, 1926. Following the death of his father, David Gordon visits his ancestral home for the first time in his life. A life that is soon threatened by the dark secrets that claimed the sanity of many Gordons before him. Blood is not always thicker than water.
We expect to hear more soon about the game. It'll be appearing next week at Gamescom and it's scheduled to arrive in just a few months on November 28th.
