August 21st marks ten years since BioShock
first graced gaming systems around the world. One of the first premier experiences on the Xbox 360 and PS3 generation of consoles and a fan-favorite on PC, the new IP captured hearts around the world and spawned two sequels. Publisher 2K Games is celebrating with the launch of a fancy 10th Anniversary Collector's Edition.
Checking in at a cool US$200, the edition features a new 11" Big Daddy statue that will look great in a display case next to the Big Daddy statue from the original 2007 BioShock
collector's edition. It has sounds, lighting and a motorized drill. The bundle also includes a copy of BioShock: The Collection
, featuring the remastered versions of all three games with their DLC and special extras like the BioShock
Museum, and a numbered certificate of authenticity.
The edition is advertised as US-only. It can be pre-ordered from 2K's store
, where it will launch on November 14th.
If the Collector's Edition isn't within your financial or geographical reach, BioShock
's tenth is being honored in other ways, like a celebration
at the upcoming PAX West and discounted prices on BioShock: The Collection
at select retailers.
