Project CARS 2 Announces Partnership With Pirelli

Slightly Mad Studios, the team behind the upcoming Project CARS 2, has announced a partnership with the famous tyre manufacturer Pirelli. This extends beyond having the brand name on a few liveries and trackside hoardings, however, since it also gives them the rights to the Pirelli World Challenge GT3 series.

Despite what the name suggests, the World Challenge takes place in North America, which means races across such tracks as Laguna Seca, Long Beach and Road America. The cars that compete in the GT3 class are as follows, and will all be included with the game at launch:

  • Acura NSX GT3
  • Aston Martin Vantage GT3
  • Audi R8 LMS / Ultra GT3
  • Bentley Continental GT3,
  • BMW M6 GT3
  • BMW Z4 GT3 E89
  • Cadillac ATS-V.R
  • Ferrari 488 GT3,
  • Lamborghini Huracan LP GT3,
  • McLaren 650S GT3,
  • Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3,
  • Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3
  • Porsche 911 GT3R

In addition, Slightly Mad Studios states that their partnership will allow them to create an even more authentic driving experience, accurately recreating how tyres react and degrade during racing.

Project CARS 2 is due for release on September 22nd.
