has begun in the Battlefield
universe. While the event understandably focuses on Battlefield 1
, the newest installment in the series, developer DICE have not forgotten about the series' older games, and titles as far back as 2011's Battlefield 3
will be receiving double XP weekends during the event. Battlefest starts now and will run until September 30th.
Starting off Battlefest, now that the "In The Name Of The Tsar"
has launched for non-Premium members, DICE is celebrating by offering a free trial of the DLC to all Battlefield 1
owners during the event. If you don't own Battlefield 1
, no problem: the game is getting a free weekend from Friday, September 22nd to Sunday, September 24th. According to the press notes, you do have to have Xbox Live Gold to partake in the free weekend. Presumably, you'd be able to access the free trial of the "In The Name Of The Tsar" DLC during the free weekend, too. If you decide to buy the game, Battlefield 1
and its Premium membership are discounted in this week's Sale Roundup
Throughout the event, Battlefield 1
players will receive 100 bonus scraps just for logging in. These scraps can be put toward purchasing battle packs, squad XP boosts or weapon skins. During the event, there will be special "Battlepack Revisions" to purchase, featuring weapon skins for each class: Assault, Support, Medic, and Scout. Players can also complete special PTFO quests to receive special PTFO-brandeded weapon skins.
If you're just here for the XP, there will be plenty of that. In addition to Battlefield 1
, Battlefield 4
, Battlefield Hardline
and Battlefield 3
will receive double XP events "during the weekends of Battlefest: Revolution." If you don't already own it, Battlefield 3
is one of this month's Games With Gold titles, and the Xbox 360 game is backward compatible on Xbox One.
The free "In The Name Of The Tsar" DLC is accessible for Battlefield 1
owners now with the free weekend and double XP events going live once the weekend begins. To read more about Battlefest, head over the official website here
