Atomicom Announces Elevate Combat League

Welcome to the future of sports, or should I say, the only sport that will matter come the year 2097. In the Elevate Combat League, a groundbreaking championship has been created for mass entertainment. The futuristic sport "ELEVATE" sees armed athletes called "RUNNERS" fighting it out either as individuals or in teams within high-tech sculptable arenas. Not long after the "ELEVATED WORLD SPORTS LEAGUE" (EWSL) is born, other sports are rendered obsolete.

Screens 1

Take a look at a selection of screens for a sample of the first-person shooting, arena-adjusting, skill-maximising gameplay to come:

There's also a batch of art mixed with screens to take a look at with more action from arena:

Similar to other first-person shooters, players can expect to run, gun, and jump all over the place. However, what developer Atomicom are hoping will make the game stand out will be the ability to alter the arena as players play as well as having a set of skills to maximise the agility of the different characters. Players looking to come out on top in their battles will need to master the intense and fast-paced action that will require a tactical approach and plenty of awareness. A variety of different game modes will also be available but the devs state that the flagship mode will be Ricochet, a "deadly contact sport where players will fight for control of a ball with which they can score goals".

Take a look at the official announcement trailer and see how the game plays:

A release date is yet to be announced for Elevate Combat League but it will be coming to the Xbox One.

We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Elevate Combat League achievements.
