We had already scanned in seven new achievements
worth a total of 500GS for Hitchhiker (Win 10)
but we were yet to see any details about the content to go with them. Today we can exclusively reveal the new content update that will be arriving this Friday, October 6th.
The content update will open up a new area of the city, situated over the river to the south of the main playable area right now. Once a player reaches level 15, they'll be able to cross over the two toll bridges that will open up. As well as different buildings and the addition of street furniture, players will be able to attempt a higher tier of challenges too. During a challenge, players are given an unlimited number of power ups and a list of pickups that must be made before they get to their destination. There will be four challenge difficulties — easy, medium, hard and extreme — and they'll be a quicker means of collecting extra XP and coins. You can see images of the new area below:
As well as the new content, there will also be bug fixes and other gameplay tweaks, the main purpose of which is to provide the groundwork for later updates. Unfortunately there is one issue that hasn't been resolved. So far developer Matt Hall has had difficulties enabling Xbox Live functionality on the Windows Phone version of the game. This is still a problem and the new features included in the above update don't work very well on a phone either. Unable to successfully solve these issues, the Xbox Live version of the game will therefore only be available for Windows 10.
