If you've played multiplayer in the original Call of Duty
, its updated version
or Call of Duty 2
, you know the Carentan map. As a throwback to original World War II Call of Duty
games, a new version of Carentan will be available to Call of Duty: WWII
season pass owners at launch.
Carentan, France, was the setting of a famous historical battle, like many of the maps in the World War II Call of Duty
installments. Players will be able to "fight through the destroyed buildings and fortified streets of this war-torn French town in an all-out battle for a strategic German stronghold" once again.
While Carentan will be only available for season pass owners at first, the fine print of the announcement
does state any season pass content may be sold separately. Historically, Activision has released pre-order maps and formerly exclusive content like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered
to the masses after set periods of time, so it wouldn't be surprising to see it sold or given away in the future.
The map will be available through the season pass when Call of Duty: World War II
launches on November 3rd.
