Wreckfest Competition Revealed - Get Your Music In The Game

By Ashley Woodcock, 1 year ago
Developer Bugbear Entertainment and publisher THQ Nordic have joined forces with Audiodraft.com on a mission to find the perfect music to add to their upcoming arcade racer Wreckfest. To accomplish this, the teams want to get the community involved by hosting a competition that anyone with a bit of musical magic can enter.

The winner will walk away with US$3500 and nine runner-ups will also secure a spot in the game and bag US$1000 each. Not only will you be earning a fair bit of cash for your craft, but you'll also have your music heard by the tons of players who will eventually be racing in the game. For more details, including the terms and conditions, time frames, how to participate, and more, use the link right here.

Submissions close on November 10th, 2017 and listeners can vote on the best soundtrack from now until November 13th, 2017 with the winners being announced on November 15th. Rock and Electronic will be the two categories in which musicians can enter. The teams are looking for more "mood", which is more important than genre. They also want entries that are "energetic, action-packed, accelerating, and they can even be a bit abstract" and they are open to instrumentals too.

Here's an important bit of information regarding the incoming musical entries:

All participants must make sure that they own all the rights to the music they are submitting. If you already have a publishing contract, please check with all parties involved that you are allowed to submit your music. The license for the winning tracks will be:
  • non-exclusive (meaning you still own all the rights to your music and can use it in other games, TV shows, etc.)
  • global (because WRECKFEST is played all over the world)
  • covering all media & use (including all game platforms, trailers, video etc.)
  • perpetual (meaning your track can be featured in the game until the end of time)
Wreckfest will be available early next year.

We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Wreckfest achievements.
