Transformers: Dark Of The Moon Detailed

Late last week, Activision announced that Transformers: War For Cybertron developer High Moon Studios will be the team behind the previously announced Transformers movie tie-in, Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, which is scheduled for release this summer.

Unlike previous movie tie-ins, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Dark Of The Moon will be a prologue to the film, rather than being forced to follow the events of the film.

In an article in IGN, Game Director Sean Miller, revealed a few details regarding the gameplay and storyline.

In terms of similarities, we think people will be excited to know that we're sticking with a similar control and gameplay scheme from War for Cybertron. We want you to be able to play in whichever mode you want - you're never without your weapons, but you've got choices.
Multiplayer has been confirmed, although High Moon didn't give much away as to the modes that will be on offer, they did reveal however that unlike War for Cybertron, you will be able to play as actual named characters this time around.

There are a couple of screenshots available on the IGN article for you to take a look at.

No release date has been announced yet, but with the Michael Bay directed movie set for release on July 1st, it's a safe bet we won't have long to wait before, Dark Of The Moon will be hitting shelves.
