Gears of War 4's Halloween Event Begins With Pumpkin Ball and Monster Mash

By Kelly Packard, 24 days ago
Gears of War 4 is the latest game to begin their Halloween festivities. This year, the traditional Pumpkin Ball game mode has returned. For those who prefer a dose of PvE instead of PvP, there is a Halloween Horde event ongoing at the same time. To encourage gamers to give the festive game modes a go, there is double XP on the table on both modes.

Gears of War 4 Pumpkin Ball

Pumpkin Ball has returned from last year. It's a fast-paced version of Dodgeball with one-second respawns and pumpkin heads on all the characters. Players can also earn some Halloween flaming weapon skins for registering on the official Gears of War website and completing specific tasks during the event:

Flaming Retro Lancer
Win 3 matches in the ‘Pumpkin Ball' special event playlist

Flaming Hammerburst:
In the 'Pumpkin Ball' special event playlist:

Get 100 Kills
Earn 5 You're Welcome ribbons (Bring 2 teammates back from the dead)
These stats are tracked in our backend and not visible to players. We recommend manually tracking as you play if you want to ensure you earn both Weapon Skins.

To qualify, you must be connected to Xbox Live and complete these objectives in the Pumpkin Ball playlist by no later than November 6th at 10 a.m. PDT.
To register, head over to the official site here.

For those who prefer to spend their time in Horde mode, the Monster Mash playlist is available. This game mode spawns Swarm-only enemies and is structured like the Horde Frenzy mode (a 25-wave Horde mode with boss waves every five rounds and random waves).

There is also a new Day of the Dead pack out for 2,000 credits that contains Day of the Dead Marcus, Day of the Dead Anya, Day of the Dead Baird, Day of the Dead 2017 Weapon Set, Day of the Dead 2017 Emblem and a bonus chance to find Gary Carmine. The pack is available until November 3rd.

Both Monster Mash and Pumpkin Ball are live now, offering up double XP. The event will run until November 6th.
