Gameloft Discontinues Achievements In Asphalt 8: Airborne (WP)

A few days ago, Gameloft announced that they were discontinuing Xbox Live support for two of their Windows Phone titles. A third title, Sniper Fury, also had Xbox Live support discontinued but as this doesn't carry achievements it would be of little concern to our community. Unfortunately, for those Windows Phone titles that do carry achievements, the news is getting worse.

After we published the above article, we learned that the Windows Phone version of Dragon Mania Legends had seen its Xbox Live support completely removed. As the game relied on connection to this service for its achievements, this meant that all of the game's 17 achievements became discontinued. Now it seems like the same has happened to Asphalt 8: Airborne (WP).

In preparation for future updates, MSN will replace Xbox from Update 23 onward. We recommend using this new social linking method to prevent unintended loss of progress that may occur.

Simply log into MSN to link your credentials and secure your current progress via Settings > Connect > MSN.
Update 23 arrived a couple of days ago and has indeed removed all Xbox Live support. This means that the game's 20 achievements are now discontinued.


As it seems like Gameloft is rapidly abandoning the Windows Phone ship, we would recommend completing all Gameloft titles as soon as possible. The titles that still have Xbox Live functionality and working achievements are:

Just to clarify, the Windows 8/10 versions of these titles remain unaffected and will continue with Xbox Live support for now. It is only the Windows Phone titles that about which you need to worry.
