Windows Mixed Reality Title Apex Construct Announced

By Dave Bricker, 1 year ago
Twisted Games Creative Director Erik Odeldahl announced Apex Construct (Win 10), a VR confirmed title for Windows Mixed Reality. Built from the ground up as a VR game, Apex Construct takes place in a dystopian post-apocalyptic world filled with merciless robots. A battle between two AIs has devastated the planet. As the last surviving human, you have to use your wits and cunning to determine why almost all life has been extinguished.

Apex Construct plays in first person, allowing you to pick up objects, teleport around the world, and engage in combat by blocking attacks with a shield, throwing grenades, and firing an upgradeable bow. The combat mechanics are akin to a real life bow and arrow, with skill and precision being pre-eminent combat requirements. Sometimes you will face multiple enemies at once, so attacking and defending simultaneously will become a learned but much needed combat skill. Different types of arrows will work on different types of enemies and some arrow types will open up secret locations.

During your exploration of the lonely world of Apex Construct, you can gather items such as key cards to help you solve puzzles and discover secrets that let you upgrade equipment in your home base. You can also replay any mission from your home base to discover new secrets that you might have missed.

Apex Construct currently does not have a release date.

We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Apex Construct (Win 10) achievements.

Outside of gaming, I work and live in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I’m an air traffic controller for the US government. I have three graduate degrees (two masters and a PhD) and a boatload of tattoos (sleeves on both arms in progress). I have two daughters who also have my love of video games. My wife is a Pokemon Go player and loves to talk smack on Call of Duty.
