EA SPORTS UFC 3 Revealed with Conor McGregor Back on the Cover

Mixed martial arts fans will soon get their fill with another round of UFC from EA Sports. The brand has announced EA SPORTS UFC 3 and if you're familiar with the series, you'll notice something similar to 2016's game. The biggest name in the sport, Conor McGregor, is back on the cover. Last time around, he and Ronda Rousey shared the box art together. Whereas Rousey's stock has fallen over the last two years, McGregor's has risen and now he'll fly solo on the cover. He's fresh off a summertime bout with Floyd Mayweather and remains a dominant force in the sport. EA is hoping the game can similarly impress its fans.

Among the game's biggest features is Real Player Motion Tech. RPM Tech brings with it over 5,000 new animations in what the publisher calls the best looking and feeling UFC game to date. Players will be able to improvise new combinations as "every punch, kick, block, and counter has been recaptured and rebuilt on cutting-edge animation," promises the company.

UFC 3 will also bring with it a new G.O.A.T. Career Mode that demands players pay attention to their characters' lives both in and out of the octagon. Build promos, earn fans and cash, and stir up rivalries with other fighters across the UFC landscape as you attempt to cement your name among the greats. EA says players can build their own persona over the course of a career mode, so players can choose to be a "cool-headed contender or an infamous trash-talker" like the cover star himself.

New multiplayer modes designed to intrigue those that may be intimidated by the sport's deep technical demands are also coming to the game. Following on from 2016's popular Knockout Mode, UFC 3 will introduce Stand & Bang mode, Submission Showdown, and Fight Now Custom, which allows users to adjust the sliders and gameplay options pre-fight to cater to their preferences and those of their opponents (or not). A new tournament mode may also entice the most competitive fighters in the digital octagon.

The game launches on February 2nd in two different versions, standard and Champions Edition. The spendier edition includes three days early access plus a slew of bonuses for Ultimate Team mode.
