Mutant Football League Delivers Crushing Tackles in New Trailers

By Mark Delaney, 13 days ago
If you're longing for the days of NFL Blitz, where true-to-life sims accompanied the wackier alternatives for American football fans, you may find what you're looking for in Mutant Football League. The title is due to launch in full early in 2018, but it's newly a part of Xbox Game Preview, which includes an hour free trial and an option to buy the game early ahead of its true drop date.

Check out the PC launch trailer to see if this gruesome reimagining of the sport is what you're looking for.

Mutant Football League takes the gameplay of NFL Blitz, removes the licensed trademarks, and tries to make up for that subtraction with uberviolent tackles, on-field obstacles like buzzsaws and spikes, and a player roster that looks plucked right out of some Iron Maiden album art. Listen closely to the trailer and you'll even hear the same commentator that famously voiced the arcade sports games of old. You can check out some fresh screenshots and a trailer announcing the game's arrival to Game Preview below.

Mutant Football League can be bought now, in early access form, for US$24.99. It's not known if that price will increase upon full release as early access sometimes do. Download the hour free trial right here.
