The Elder Scrolls Online 4K Enhancements Trailer Released

Today saw the release of a new trailer for The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. The trailer features comparisons between the old screens from The Elder Scrolls Online and the new 4K patched screenshots.

ESO 4K Patch

Patched changes include being able to run the game at a native 4K resolution, which is automatic if you have a 4K TV, and improvements like anti-aliasing and improved graphical fidelity if you have a 1080P TV. There are also a number of visual improvements. These include an increased view distance with higher quality models at a distance, more realistic shadows and light behavior with screen space ambient occlusion, and more immersive realistic reflections. True HDR is also available. The visual settings on the Xbox One X are very close to the Ultra settings for the PC version.

Also included in the patch, called Update 16, are changes to the Trait Tracker System which gives players the opportunity to see if they have researched an item. A new battlegrounds map has also been added called “Crazy Kings.” In this map, the capture point randomly moves around the map. The last item in the patch is the new DLC Clockwork City for The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, which features a new zone, a 10 hour storyline, and six more achievements worth 220 GS. “Clockwork City” is free for ESO Plus members or 2,000 Crowns for everyone else in the in-game store.

This is a day one patch targeted for the Xbox One X, so it should now be available. Beware of the file size as it is somewhere around 79 GB.
