The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes Screenshots

By Rebecca Smith,
The Testament of Sherlock Holmes was announced way back at the end of April 2010. Very few gameplay details were released, and the accompanying teaser trailer gave very little away. No further details were released after the initial announcement, and, let's be honest, most of you have completely forgotten about it. Well, the game is back, and is now called The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes: The Testament of Sherlock.

The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes will immerse gamers in 1898 London as they conduct an incredible investigation. All the evidence suggests our hero is the main suspect in a case involving theft, fraud and double-crossings. Unable to prove his own innocence, Holmes is rapidly losing London's trust as doubt spreads through the city like wildfire. Even Doctor Watson's faith in his friend begins to waver, as the famous detective flees Scotland Yard and raises further suspicion; prowling around at night, destruction of evidence... would Holmes go so far as to commit murder?

The complex and decidedly-mature storyline surrounds a particularly tricky investigation, in which each and every puzzle will challenge both insight and wits! As Sherlock Holmes, players will use the detective's full repertoire: handle and inspect clues, re-enact crimes and use the game's new deduction system to draw your own conclusions. Choose your questioning approach to catch characters off guard and gather valuable information. Players are facing an open investigation, and must decide which leads to follow and which to ignore.

You are Sherlock Holmes, and this is your investigation. Live a thrilling adventure and foil an incredible conspiracy!

The game is being published by Focus Home Interactive, the same company responsible for delivering Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper, so achievement aficionados can start celebrating now. One major difference is that this game is being developed specifically for console gaming. Now, there should not be any problems relating to the controls feeling clunky, as the game is not being ported from the PC version.

Oh yes; that teaser trailer is here in case you're interested:
