Launched just over three months ago, the "War Stories" update adds new story campaigns to World of Tanks
on both Xbox One and Xbox 360. Today, the fifth campaign, Runaway Tiger, has been released.
Like usual, the campaign adds three campaign chapters that make up an independent story between them. This time, players are tasked with changing the events that happened during the Battle of El Alamein. The Allies have infiltrated a German tank production facility in North Africa and they plan to steal the heavily guarded secret prototype of the Tiger (Panzer VI) tank. With a sandstorm fast approaching, French resistance fighter Marianne Durieux is the person ordered to take on the job. As players attempt to escape the facility with the prototype, they'll face waves of challenges and other Tiger prototypes. All you need to do is reach El Alamein to be successful, but that's going to be easier said than done.
Legendary composer Inon Zur was also tasked with composing new music for the campaign. His former stint in a tank platoon served as perfect inspiration for the task. You can hear some of the new music in the trailer below:
"Runaway Tiger" is available right now for players to download for free. Players who take on the task on Xbox One X will be able to make use of the game's recent update to provide 4K resolution and HDR support.
