A New Year's Q&A from The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
developer Edmund McMillen has brought news for Xbox One fans who have been awaiting the "Afterbirth+" DLC's release since it was announced
for consoles a year ago. The add-on is confirmed to still be in development for Xbox One.
"Afterbirth+" was originally supposed to launch for consoles in spring 2017. The DLC finally made its way to PlayStation 4 in September, and all evidence of an Xbox One version seemed to have vanished. Fans were peppering McMillen and Nicalis with questions on Twitter and Reddit about Xbox One but weren't getting any answers. There was speculation "Afterbirth+" had been canceled for Xbox or snapped up as a PS4 console exclusive.
On January 9th, McMillen answered the following question on his blog
Q: is Afterbirth+ ever coming out on Xbox1?
A: yes, i can officially say that Afterbirth+ is in development and will release on Xbox1!
McMillen also just launched his latest game, The End is Nigh
, on PC and Switch and is in the process of porting it to PS4. In the Q & A, he also hinted that The End is Nigh
will "maybe [come to] more consoles in the future?", so perhaps Xbox One fans who are a fan of McMillen's work have more to look forward to.
