Everyone Can Play Halo 5: Guardians For Free This Weekend

While we wait for the next main game in the Halo series — which may be a while with 343 hinting that it won't be coming this year — Microsoft have provided an opportunity to try the most recent instalment, Halo 5: Guardians, for free this weekend.

Starting today, everyone will be able to try out the campaign of TrueAchievements' best shooter of 2015. Xbox Live Gold members will naturally also be able to dip into the game's multiplayer from classics like Slayer to new modes like Warzone and everything in between.

Any progress, including achievements, made during the duration of the free weekend — today, January 11th through until 11pm PST on Sunday, January 14th — will be saved so those who will be playing the game for the first time may want to keep in mind that they may not be able to earn all of the game's achievements if our 40-50 hour estimate is accurate. Luckily, for those that want to keep going after the free weekend, Halo 5: Guardians will be 20% off for the duration of the weekend.
