Today we already had huge remaster news with the Dark Souls: Remastered announcement
. However, Dark Souls
will have to share the remastered spotlight with Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered
, which has just been announced.
Despite positive reviews, Assassin's Creed Rogue
never quite reached as wide of an audience as the other games, probably due to its 2014 release date late into the Xbox 360's lifespan. TrueAchievements tracks only just under 30,000 gamers who have played Rogue
, whereas the other Xbox 360 installments, including Assassin's Creed
, Assassin's Creed II
, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
, Assassin's Creed: Revelations
, Assassin's Creed III
and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
, have well over 100,000 players each.
The game sees Shay Patrick Cormac switch sides from the Brotherhood to the Templars and begin to hunt down his former comrades. The remastered edition also includes the base game and two bonus missions from the original game, "The Armor of Sir Gunn Quest" and "The Siege of Fort de Sable." In addition, Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered
includes the "Master Templar" and "Explorer" packs, which offer weapons and customization items, including Bayek’s legacy outfit from Assassin's Creed Origins
will have "higher resolution, improved environment rendering, visual effects and textures" than the original version and will be available in 4K on the Xbox One X and 1080p on non-X editions.
Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered
launches on March 20th. If you're not ready to upgrade to Rogue Remastered
just yet, the Xbox 360 version can be played on Xbox One through the backward compatibility feature.
We already know many community members are excited for the remaster because we had so many news suggestions sent in about Rogue Remastered
